Zum Inhalt der Veranstaltung

In der Veranstaltung wird versucht, einen Überblick über den aktuellen Entwicklungsstand der Forschung und Theoriebildung im Feld der "Berufssoziologie" anzubieten und, darauf aufbauend, zu zusätzlichen, sich aus der Synthese von organisations- und schichtsoziologischen Ansätzen ergebenden theoretischen Generalisierungen vorzustossen.

Im Mittelpunkt steht die Frage nach den gesellschaftlichen Konstitutionsbedingungen und Entwicklungsdeterminanten der Berufe, wobei zwei verschiedene Aspekte zu unterscheiden sind:

• Berufe als institutionalisierte Statuspositionen im gesellschaftlichen Schichtungssystem, die sich in Prestige, Einkommen, Chancen von Autoritätsausübung oder Selbstentfaltung etc. voneinander unterscheiden, in verschiedenem Masse für Mobilitätsprozesse "durchlässig" sind usw.
• Berufe als institutionalisierte rollenbezogene "Tätigkeitsbündel" (z.B. "Qualifikationsbündel") innerhalb der gesellschaftlichen Arbeitsteilung, deren Entstehung, Ausbreitung, Veränderung oder Verschwinden von mannigfachen Differenzierungsprozessen (auf struktureller, kultureller und technologischer Ebene) abhängig ist.

Über die vielfältigen Sonderentwicklungen in den einzelnen Berufsbereichen hinausgehend, wird die Frage aufgeworfen, welchen generelleren gesellschaftlichen Entwicklungstendenzen das Gesamtsystem beruflicher Statusrollen unterliegt und auf welche Weise sich die Grenzlinie zwischen berufsförmigen und nichtberuflichen Rollenstrukturen verschiebt.

Für Studierende im B/A Studium:

Dies ist eine einsemestrige Wahlveranstaltung im Rahmen der "Speziellen Soziologien", deren Bestehen 4 ECTS-Punkte ergibt. Der Leistungsnachweis wird durch eine in der letzten Semesterwoche stattfindende schriftliche Klausurprüfung (Dauer: 105 Minuten) erbracht. Der Stoff stützt sich einerseits auf den Inhalt der Vorlesung und andererseits auf eine Serie ausgewählter Texte, die im untenstehenden Literaturverzeichnis in fetter roter Schrift gekennzeichnet sind.
